Why Is My Heat Pump Running But Not Cooling Properly?

A heat pump that runs but won’t cool usually has an airflow or refrigerant issue. Check that the thermostat is on Cool and set below room temp. Replace a dirty filter. Rinse debris from the outdoor coil. Make sure supply and return vents are open. If it still struggles, you may have low refrigerant, a failing capacitor, a stuck reversing valve, or duct problems. Our Phoenix technicians can diagnose, repair, and optimize ductwork for better airflow.
